India’s Digantara is crafting what’s essentially a “Google Maps for space,” providing real-time, navigable maps of orbital traffic to ensure safer and more sustainable space operations. Founded in 2018 by Anirudh Sharma, Rahul Rawat, and Tanveer Ahmed, the startup offers Space Situational Awareness (SSA) via their two key software platforms: Space-MAP (Space Mission Assurance Platform) and STARS (Space Threat Assessment and Response Suite).
Digantara’s Space Camera for Object Tracking (SCOT) satellite launched aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-12 in January 2025, now tracks objects as small as 5 cm, delivering frequent, accurate orbital information. Complementing space-based sensors, Digantara is setting up India’s first ground observatory in Ladakh, alongside a 25,000 sq ft assembly and control center in Bengaluru to oversee a growing satellite constellation.
Globally recognized, Digantara has forged partnerships with Singapore Space and Technology (to enhance ML models), Australia’s Space Machines Company, ArianeGroup, and even Astroscale of Japan all to bolster SSA and debris management. With an eye on global expansion, their U.S. plan includes building a Colorado facility and aiming for $25–30 million revenue in two years, backed by government defense contracts. Meanwhile, Reliance is exploring a $50 million investment in Digantara, reflecting growing confidence in India’s private space tech ecosystem.
