What can change a startup’s fate in just 10 minutes? For siblings Sheena and Karan Khurana, the answer came on a brightly lit stage at IIT Bombay’s E-Summit.
Armed with a frozen espresso shot, the duo pitched Zenma Coffee-a brand solving a simple but powerful problem: how to bring café-style espresso to Indian homes without an expensive machine. Their idea was born years earlier in a tiny Gurugram kiosk, endless late-night experiments, and a pandemic setback that forced them to rethink everything.
After months of testing grind sizes, extraction times, and flash-freezing techniques, Zenma cracked the code. Their frozen espresso shots preserve crema, aroma, and flavour-melting into café-like coffee at home, at nearly one-third the café cost.
By 2023, Zenma hit quick-commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto. In 2024, they appeared on Shark Tank India, gaining visibility but no deal. Then came the surprise invite to The Ten Minute Million (TTMM) at IIT Bombay.
Their pitch sparked a bidding frenzy. Investor bids crossed ₹3 crore, securing ₹35 lakh in on-the-spot funding-plus mentorship, credibility, and a young, loyal audience.
Sometimes, belief-frozen, refined, and served right-changes everything.
