Anil Ambani's Reliance Defence has secured a significant ₹600 crore export order from Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH, a leading German defence manufacturer, marking one of the largest deals in high-tech ammunition exports.
The partnership strengthens Reliance Defence's position in the global defence supply chain, particularly in Europe, while advancing 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India' initiatives through indigenous manufacturing capabilities.
"This strategic partnership illustrates our strong commitment to partner with India under Prime Minister Modi's leadership," said Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG. Anil Ambani described it as a defining milestone for India's private defence sector.
The deal supports Reliance Defence's ambitious Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City (DADC) project in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra—India's largest private greenfield defence initiative. The integrated facility will manufacture explosives, ammunition, and small arms, positioning the company among India's top three defence exporters.
