BJP Alleges SP Held Politics At Mosque

The BJP stirred controversy on July 23, 2025, after photographs showed Samajwadi Party leaders, including Dimple Yadav, inside a mosque on Delhi’s Parliament Street during a party meeting. The BJP claimed this was a misuse of a religious site for political gain and said it could hurt Islamic sentiments.

In response, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav strongly defended his party, accusing the BJP of using such claims to distract from real governance issues. He argued that the BJP is pushing divisive and hate‑driven politics to shift public focus away from failures in job creation, farm support, and youth development.

The incident highlights growing tension between the two parties amid rising political polarization. The BJP says religious places should remain separate from politics and demanded clarity on the mosque meeting. SP countered that the BJP is deliberately stirring trouble and diverting attention from public issues.

Akhilesh also called out BJP tactics of creating communal clashes to manipulate voter sentiment. With the 2027 assembly election in sight, both parties are sharpening strategies — BJP leaning into identity politics, while SP tries to broaden its appeal by focusing on governance failures.

As neither side shows signs of backing down, the mosque meeting row may be a sign of more heated battles ahead in the political landscape.
