Gurugram flooded after 133 mm rainfall, Traffic at a standstill!

Gurugram witnessed massive waterlogging and traffic chaos on Thursday, July 10, after receiving 133 mm of rainfall by 8:30 am, according to the district administration. The heavy overnight showers inundated key roads, underpasses, and residential areas, effectively bringing the city to a halt during peak morning hours.

Commuters faced long snarls, with vehicles stranded across Sohna Road, Golf Course Road, NH-48, and areas near Cyber City. Many residents reported flooded basements and power disruptions in low-lying societies.

The district administration deployed pumps and disaster response teams to clear waterlogged zones, while traffic police tried to manage congestion. Despite efforts, normal movement remained severely affected through the morning.

Officials have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and take safety precautions as rainfall is expected to continue intermittently through the day. Gurugram’s recurring monsoon flooding has once again raised questions about the city’s drainage infrastructure and urban planning resilience.
