A blast occurred in a car parked near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Sunday, prompting a swift response from emergency services. The incident led to three to four nearby vehicles catching fire and sustaining damage, according to officials from the Delhi Fire Department.

A call about the explosion was received and fire-fighters and a police team rushed to the scene. At present, there is no public information regarding casualties or official confirmation of the cause of the detonation. Investigators are examining whether this was a mechanical fault, an accidental ignition, or deliberate act.

Traffic and commuter movement around the historic Red Fort and its metro station were disrupted in the aftermath, with authorities sealing off the immediate area as forensic teams entered the site. Security agencies say the investigation is ongoing and vows to provide updates when concrete details emerge. The incident underscores heightened vigilance in central Delhi’s high-footfall zones.
