Blue drum horror: Decomposed body found in Punjab!

A chilling discovery in Ludhiana’s Sherpur area saw the decomposed body of an unidentified man found inside a blue plastic drum on Wednesday, eerily mirroring the notorious Meerut case . Found by ragpickers alerted to a foul stench, the body was wrapped in a plastic sack and tightly bound at the neck and legs with rope.

Station House Officer Kulwant Kaur stated the victim, believed to be a migrant, showed no visible external wounds, and the cause of death will become clear after post‑mortem . Investigators suspect the drum was newly purchased, indicating premeditation, and have questioned 42 local drum manufacturers about recent sales .

Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage within a 5 km radius - including bus depots and railway stations - and interviewing migrants in the area to track movements related to the drum, and are scanning missing persons reports for leads.

Police have registered a murder case and are working to uncover the identity of both the victim and the perpetrator(s). This case has reignited concerns over brutal, preplanned violent crimes in the region.
