The Staff Selection Commission has deferred the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGL) 2025 originally set for August 13 to the first week of September. The delay allows for rigorous evaluation of its computer-based testing platform and operational preparedness. This follows disruptions during the Selection Posts/Phase XIII exams from late July to early August, where candidates experienced technical and procedural difficulties. Aadhaar authentication, recently introduced to curb impersonation, was in effect during those exams.
Approximately 8,000 candidates were accommodated on August 2 across multiple shifts. Subsequent analysis found gaps affecting around 55,000 test logs; those affected will receive another opportunity to sit the exam on August 29.
Meanwhile, SSC will re-enable the One Time Registration (OTR) editing window from August 14–31 for upcoming exam applications. Applications for subsequent exams begin in September, and edits to OTR won’t be allowed after the window closes.
In essence, SSC is prioritizing fairness and system robustness while supporting affected candidates through extra testing and registration flexibility.
