Ardeshir’s, a beloved soda brand from Pune, boasts a rich history that predates global giants like Coca-Cola. Established in 1884 by Ardeshir Khodadad Irani, a Zoroastrian immigrant from Iran, the brand began in a modest rented barrack in Pune's cantonment area. Irani, noticing the demand for carbonated beverages, developed a method to produce soda water using a charcoal furnace, laying the foundation for Ardeshir’s.
Over the decades, the brand has remained a staple in Pune, offering a range of flavored sodas, including the popular raspberry and orange variants. Now known as Ardy’s, the fourth-generation family-run business continues to operate from its original location, preserving traditional recipes and methods. Despite the rise of multinational soft drink brands, Ardeshir’s has maintained its charm and local appeal, making it a unique part of Pune's culinary heritage.
