Gill insists ties with Rohit, Kohli remain strong ahead of first ODI vs Australia!

Standing on the banks of Perth’s Swan River in an unconventional pre-match setting, India’s newly appointed ODI skipper Shubman Gill sought to squash any speculation regarding his relationships with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He emphasised that “nothing has changed” between them and reaffirmed the trio’s strong bond.

Gill said both Rohit and Kohli remain “extremely helpful” and he regularly seeks their advice given their experience. “Whatever they feel … I go to them and ask what they think… I have a very good relationship with both Virat bhai and Rohit bhai,” he added.

With Rohit and Kohli returning to the Indian ODI side for the three-match series against Australia, Gill faces the dual challenge of leading the team while playing alongside the veterans whose legacies he is poised to build upon.

The refreshed dynamic underlines India's intent to blend youthful leadership with seasoned experience - starting with this high-stakes tour.
