Instagram has unveiled exciting new features aimed at making Reels more accessible for Indian creators and audiences. At the recent ‘House of Instagram’ event in Mumbai, Meta announced that creators can now translate their video content into five additional Indian languages: Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. This expands the existing AI translation tools that currently support English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The update doesn’t stop at text translation. A lip-sync option automatically matches mouth movements to the translated audio, giving the appearance that the creator is speaking in the new language. This helps creators reach wider audiences and makes content consumption seamless for viewers across India.
By enabling multi-language dubbing and lip-syncing, Instagram is empowering creators to connect with diverse audiences without language barriers. The move highlights the growing importance of India in Meta’s global strategy and provides users with a richer, more interactive experience on the platform.
