Nike's latest campaign with Delhi label NorBlack NorWhite featured American‑Bangladeshi influencer NaleyByNature - and it’s causing an online firestorm. The collaboration quickly triggered the trending hashtag #BoycottNike as users dug into Naley’s past social media posts.
The backlash peaked after clips surfaced showing her calling Kashmir “occupied by India,” and questioning government claims about a recent terror attack in Pahalgam - remarks deemed insensitive amidst national sentiment. Many Indian users labeled her “anti‑India,” accusing Nike of poor vetting and disrespecting national sensibilities.
Analysts note that this uproar underscores how deeply cultural and geopolitical issues impact consumer perceptions - especially in a politically charged social media climate. With more than 136,000 social media mentions in a few days, the incident illustrates the speed and scale of modern brand controversies.
