Can eating raw garlic every morning change your health too?

Bollywood star and fitness enthusiast Soha Ali Khan has recently unveiled her unique morning ritual: chewing a clove of raw garlic on an empty stomach for enhanced wellness. For the past four weeks, she has started her day with this pungent habit, explaining it activates allicin, a compound believed to boost immunity, reduce inflammation, and support gut health.

In her Instagram reel, Soha humorously handled the heat of eating garlic raw—advising viewers to keep chewing until the allicin forms and then swallow with water. She suggests an alternative: crushing the garlic and resting it for ten minutes for a milder experience.

She also advises caution: if you're on blood thinners, have a sensitive stomach, or are planning surgery, consult a doctor before adopting the practice. And yes garlic breath is real, so follow it up with brushing and mouthwash.

This trend has drawn interest for tapping into ancient kitchen wisdom, combining simplicity with potential health benefits. While not necessarily suitable for everyone, Soha describes it as “a tiny clove that’s a powerhouse for immunity, gut health, inflammation, and overall balance."
