Two brothers, Ashlin Bansal and Sachit Bansal, are turning heads in India’s circular economy with their startup Costify, founded in New Delhi in 2022 to bring trust and quality to the unorganised refurbished appliance market.
At a time when buying used appliances often feels risky for Indian households, Costify set out to flip the script by offering rigorously tested, warranty‑backed refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and more at 50–70 per cent lower prices than new products. They built a disciplined refurbishment process that includes multi‑stage QA, genuine parts and AI‑assisted repairs — giving customers confidence rarely seen in this segment.
The focus on quality and trust has paid off: over 8,000 customers across Delhi‑NCR have chosen Costify’s refurbished appliances, and the company now generates more than ₹4 crore in annual revenue. Their Google reviews average 4.5 stars, reflecting strong customer satisfaction.
Numerous investors have shown interest, and the founders opted for an angel funding round from operators aligned with their long‑term vision instead of chasing quick capital. Costify is also expanding its technician training network, turning fresh talent into skilled, process‑driven technicians and creating jobs while standardising repairs.
