In response to India’s persistent air-pollution crisis, Airth Research Private Limited—a Delhi-startup led by aerosol scientist Ravi Kaushik—has developed a novel solution that re-imagines the role of the home air-conditioner. Their product, “FiltRIX”, launched commercially in 2023, is a simple attachment compatible with split, window and commercial AC units; it uses a proprietary three-layer 3D lung-inspired filter to trap dust and airborne pollutants.
Certified by institutions including Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, IIT Kanpur and BEE labs, the filter reportedly delivers up to 90 % purification in just one to two hours. Installation is designed for DIY, avoiding technician costs. Priced at around ₹2,500 for the initial unit and ₹1,200 for replacement filters (every 8-12 months), Airth aims to make clean indoor air accessible and affordable.
Their business model combines B2B contracts (including clients like the Reserve Bank of India and major schools) and retail sales across platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Despite strong competition from established brands like Dyson and Xiaomi, Airth’s innovation lies in leveraging existing AC infrastructure rather than selling another standalone device.
