Delhi University says No application filed by Lenskart Co‑Founder!

As eyewear firm Lenskart prepares for its IPO, dropout disclosures in its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) revealed that co-founder Sumeet Kapahi cannot locate his B.Com (Hons) degree and marksheets from Delhi University. Kapahi claimed to have sent multiple emails and applied through the university’s online portal requesting duplicate copies, but received no response.

Responding publicly, Delhi University (DU) said it had received no formal application or email from Kapahi, though there was a payment made by someone named Deepesh requesting a duplicate marksheet on behalf of Kapahi. DU has advised him to submit a proper application via its portal and complete the fee procedure .

Lenskart disclosed the missing documents as a risk factor in the IPO, citing uncertainty over whether the university will ever provide the credentials. Until then, the company will rely on certificates furnished by Kapahi and the lead managers for verification purposes.
