A young man named Vikas, a resident of Faridabad and an insurance employee working in Noida, was celebrating his birthday with his friend Sumit near a liquor shop in Delhi’s Ghazipur Paper Market area when tragedy struck on Wednesday night.

According to Sumit, their car was brushed past by a two-wheeler. A verbal confrontation escalated when the rider called six associates, who arrived wielding rods. The attackers dragged Vikas and Sumit into a nearby lane and delivered repeated blows—Vikas suffered multiple stab wounds and died on the spot. Sumit was critically injured and rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, later transferred to a private facility.

Vikas was engaged and scheduled to marry soon. He and Sumit worked together at a private insurance firm in Noida . The Delhi Police have registered a murder case and launched a manhunt for the assailants. Investigations are ongoing as authorities review CCTV footage and gather witness statements.
