Entrepreneurship stories often begin in classrooms or startup hubs, but Dadasaheb Bhagat’s journey started while cleaning offices at a technology company. Earning ₹9,000 a month as an office assistant at Infosys, Bhagat observed professionals working on computers — a moment that reshaped his ambitions and introduced him to the possibilities of digital skills.
Raised in Maharashtra’s drought-prone Beed district with limited access to higher education, Bhagat completed schooling only until Class 10 and later pursued vocational training. Determined to change his trajectory, he taught himself graphic design after work hours, eventually transitioning into freelancing despite financial instability. During the pandemic, he returned to his village and began building what later became Design Template, a creative platform offering ready-to-use visual templates aimed at simplifying design for students, creators, and small businesses.
Working from a makeshift setup with limited internet connectivity, Bhagat developed a platform focused on accessibility and affordability for Indian users. National recognition followed, including investment secured on Shark Tank India. Today, his venture positions itself as a homegrown alternative in the global design ecosystem, proving innovation can emerge far beyond traditional startup environments.
