As the monsoon brings welcome relief from heat, rising humidity also ushers in skin problems like oiliness, breakouts, fungal infections, and clogged pores. Experts recommend a streamlined skincare routine focused on cleansing, hydration, and protection.
Double cleanse daily. Use gentle, pH-balanced or soap-free cleansers twice a day to remove excess oil, sweat, and grime without stripping natural moisture.
Exfoliate regularly. Gentle exfoliation 1–3 times a week (using mild scrubs or chemical exfoliants like salicylic or glycolic acid) helps eliminate dead skin cells and prevents pore blockages .
Light moisturizers are key. Despite humidity, hydration is essential—choose oil-free, water-based, non-comedogenic moisturizers with hyaluronic acid to balance skin without causing breakouts .
Don’t skip sunscreen. UV rays still penetrate clouds—use a waterproof, broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply after sweating or rain exposure .
Antifungal care & hygiene. High humidity fuels fungal growth—use antifungal soaps in folds, wear breathable fabrics, change wet clothes promptly, and carry antifungal powder if needed .
Lighten makeup & stay dry. Opt for lightweight, water-based makeup or CC creams; avoid heavy foundations to prevent clogged pores .
