India had hoped he might recover in time for the fifth Test, given the lengthy breaks during the series. But the risk of aggravating the injury led to the final call. With major tournaments like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup on the horizon, managing Bumrah’s fitness remains a strategic priority.
