Pakistan and Bangladesh agree on Visa‑free entry for Officials!

Pakistan and Bangladesh have reached an agreement to grant visa-free entry to each other’s diplomats and official passport holders, a move that highlights a deepening diplomatic rapprochement between the two nations.

This development follows a sweeping warming of relations since the establishment of Bangladesh’s interim government under Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus. Over recent months, Dhaka has rolled back visa security clearances for Pakistani citizens, resumed direct maritime and air links, and begun importing military supplies from Pakistan, including artillery and explosives, prompting fresh concerns in New Delhi.

India is closely monitoring the unfolding dynamics: analysts warn that these developments - coupled with intelligence cooperation and military engagement between Pakistan and Bangladesh - may heighten security threats, particularly along India’s northeastern border. The realignment also aligns with China's growing diplomatic footprint in the region, further challenging India’s traditional influence in its South Asian neighbourhood.
