How this Startup is turning boring weekends into a movement?

Weekends sound fun on paper, but most of us struggle with the same question: “What do I even do?” That’s exactly where Misfits steps in, a Gurugram-born startup turning idle hours into memorable experiences.

It began with four flatmates hosting quirky theme nights just to escape boredom. From tiny board-game gatherings to full-blown community activities, their idea snowballed into Misfits, a platform where anyone can host or join meetups around hobbies like hiking, music, sports, art, reading and more.

Unlike the big players chasing large ticketed events, Misfits focuses on small, frequent, high-engagement meetups led by “club leaders.” These are everyday people earning through the activities they organize, while Misfits handles the venue tie-ups, marketing and logistics. With 500 meetups and nearly 5,000 participants every month, the model is showing serious traction.

As India’s “going-out” market rapidly expands, Misfits is betting big on community-led experiences over one-time events. And with plans to scale beyond Gurugram, it aims to turn your casual weekend boredom into a structured, growing economy.

A simple question sparked it all: What if free time could become a business?
