KL Rahul Leads India’s ODI Squad Against South Africa!

India has announced a balanced 15-member ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against South Africa, scheduled to begin on November 30 in Ranchi. With Shubman Gill ruled out due to a neck injury sustained during the Test series, KL Rahul has been appointed the stand-in captain. His leadership adds stability to the squad, especially with several senior players returning to the format.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have shifted their focus primarily to ODIs, remain central to the batting lineup. Their inclusion brings much-needed experience and consistency. The squad also marks the return of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, adding depth to both the batting and spin departments. Young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad earns a spot after showing impressive domestic performances, strengthening India’s top-order options.

On the bowling front, the selectors have opted to rest Jasprit Bumrah as part of workload management, placing greater responsibility on the remaining pace battery. The selection reflects a thoughtful blend of form, experience, and strategic planning. As India looks ahead to the series, the squad represents continuity, adaptation, and the promise of competitive cricket under Rahul’s temporary leadership.
