Shocking allegation: Students paraded in underwear at Goa University!

The Goa State Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Vice-Chancellor of Goa University following a disturbing allegation involving the public humiliation of male students. The incident reportedly occurred earlier this year during a cultural festival organized on campus, where several male students were allegedly made to parade in their underwear.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the Commission has sought an official explanation from the university, citing possible violations of students' dignity and human rights. The incident has sparked public outrage and raised serious concerns over campus conduct, event oversight, and student safety in educational institutions.

While university officials have yet to release an official statement, the notice demands accountability and transparency in the investigation. Student organizations and rights groups have also called for strict action if the claims are substantiated.

The Commission’s move signals a growing intolerance for abusive or degrading behavior under the guise of festivity or tradition, especially within institutions meant to foster respect, learning, and inclusivity.
