EdTech meets Bharat: Physicswallah, CSC start digital university!

Ed-tech unicorn PhysicsWallah has collaborated with CSC Academy (CSCA) - the non-profit arm of the IT Ministry’s Common Services Centres - to set up a digital university serving rural learners across India, according to official announcements on Friday.

This initiative aims to offer accredited online degrees, certifications, and skill-based courses in emerging fields such as cybersecurity, AI, and behavioral science. By leveraging the extensive CSC network, the partnership intends to establish digital learning hubs in rural areas, facilitating offline, online, and hybrid modes of delivery .

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, PhysicsWallah will also train CSC Village Level Entrepreneurs to operate these centres, ensuring localised support and delivery. The move follows previous efforts by CSCA to partner with universities for online programs, strengthening its digital education mission.

Based in Noida, PhysicsWallah - founded by Alakh Pandey - has grown into a leading ed‑tech platform offering JEE, NEET, and CBSE coaching since 2016. The digital university is expected to significantly enhance higher education access, skill development, and economic opportunities for rural youth nationwide.
