A resident of G Block, Sector 24 in Gurugram was pleasantly surprised when civic authorities addressed his multiple sanitation complaints the same day. After lodging three separate reports via the Swachhata App - including images of garbage dumps and discarded furniture - he observed all sites cleaned within hours, calling the experience “literally amazing.”
In a post shared on Reddit’s r/Gurgaon, the user recounted that the litter had been lying unabated for nearly a week. With no expectations, he filed complaints in the morning and watched two spots already clean themselves by evening, while the third was being cleared by municipal workers and a tractor trolley.
Since its launch, the Swachhata‑MoHUA app promises resolution of reported civic issues—such as trash, unclean public spaces, and overflowing bins - within 12 hours. While many users report delays, this case demonstrates the app’s potential when it delivers on its commitment.
The Reddit post sparked excitement, with users praising the prompt action and urging others to use the platform more actively. “This app needs more awareness,” commented one user, while another asked how to raise more visibility for it.
