In a shocking case from Loni, Ghaziabad, 17-year-old Rehan was murdered by his friend Wasim after a dispute over social media. According to police, Rehan had recently followed Wasim’s girlfriend on Instagram, which enraged the accused. In a calculated act of revenge, Wasim invited Rehan for a plate of chhole bhature, and later lured him to a deserted area, where the fatal attack took place.

Wasim allegedly roped in two of his friends - Sahil and Rahil - by promising a liquor party in exchange for helping him commit the murder. After the food outing, the trio stabbed Rehan multiple times and left him bleeding on the road. He was found unconscious by locals and rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

All three accused have been arrested, and a case of murder and criminal conspiracy has been registered. The police say the motive was purely based on “jealousy and social media rage”, reflecting growing concerns over digital-triggered crimes among youth.
