U.S. President Donald Trump has doubled down on his claim that Operation Midnight Hammer “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s key nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—despite a Pentagon intelligence assessment concluding the strikes only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a few months.
Trump, citing satellite imagery, praised the precision and potency of the bunker‑buster strikes, declaring “monumental damage” and describing the outcome as a “bullseye”. He also warned of further U.S. action if Tehran does not pursue peace.
However, the Defense Intelligence Agency contradicted these assertions, revealing that while above‑ground structures were heavily damaged, underground facilities and centrifuges remain largely intact and could be operational again within months. Satellite analysis supports this, showing collapsed tunnel entrances but no definitive confirmation of deeper destruction.
The White House dismissed the DIA report as politically motivated and refused to alter its narrative. Critics, including congressional Democrats and fact‑checkers, have decried Trump’s rhetoric as misleading, urging greater transparency and oversight.
