Dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Aisle, and TrulyMadly are becoming very popular in India, especially among Gen Z and young adults. While they help people find love and meaningful connections, they also come with serious risks-online scams.
Here are 5 easy tips to stay safe while using dating apps:
1. Don’t share personal information
Never share your home address, daily routine, phone number, workplace, or bank details. Scammers may misuse this information.
2. Watch out for red flags in chats
If someone says “I love you” too soon, avoids video calls, or tries emotional drama, be careful-they might be fake.
3. Always verify before trusting
Use reverse image search to check if their profile picture is real. Also, check their presence on social media. If they avoid it, that’s suspicious.
4. Never send money-no matter what
Scammers often create fake emergencies. No matter how emotional it sounds, never send money to someone you haven’t met.
5. Report and block
If a profile feels fake or suspicious, report and block it immediately. Your alertness can save you and others.
Stay open to love, but stay alert and smart.
