A Bihar-to-Delhi double-decker bus met with a horrific accident on the Lucknow–Agra Expressway this morning around 7:43 am in Etawah district, authorities confirmed. Eyewitnesses say the vehicle was speeding when the driver lost control, causing it to plow through the expressway railing before plunging into the service lane below .

The accident claimed the lives of two passengers on the spot, while more than 50 others sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. Many victims were rushed to Saifai Medical Institute, with additional care provided at nearby hospitals. Police reported approximately 65 individuals were onboard at the time of the crash .

Preliminary investigations by SSP Etawah, Akash Tomar, suggest excessive speed and possible driver negligence as primary causes. The driver is reportedly absconding, and police have launched a manhunt. A full investigation is underway amid growing concerns about safety on the busy expressway.
