Once hailed as the future of work, employees under 35 are now grappling with burnout, anxiety, and isolation, a Gallup 2025 report reveals.
A staggering 41% of them report feeling stressed daily, surpassing the global average of 40%. The pressure is highest in the US and Canada, where 50% of young workers experience consistent stress.
Factors like economic uncertainty, unstable career paths, digital overload, and the blurred boundaries of remote work are creating a mental health crisis. While work-from-home brought flexibility, it also led to loneliness - with 25% of young workers saying they felt lonely the previous day.
Only 32% of under-35s globally say they’re "thriving" in life. Experts stress that lack of mentorship and poor manager training are worsening the situation. Gallup suggests that improving leadership training and support structures could unlock $9.6 trillion in productivity globally.
If this generation is to lead the future, they need more than tech tools - they need empathy, support, and a purpose-driven work environment.
