TasteAtlas has unveiled its much‑anticipated “100 Best Food Cities in the World” list for 2024–25, placing six Indian cities on the global culinary map. Leading the pack is Mumbai, securing a laudable 5th position, with street‑food favorites like bhel puri, pav bhaji, vada pav, modak and ragda pattice delighting both locals and tourists.

India's other successful entrants include Amritsar (43rd), celebrated for its robust Punjabi cuisine featuring Amritsari kulcha, tandoori murgh and saag paneer; New Delhi (45th), famed for its chaats, kebabs and butter chicken; Hyderabad (50th), whose Hyderabadi biryani and spicy curries highlight its UNESCO‑recognized gastronomy; Kolkata (71st), beloved for rasgulla, mishti doi and street snacks; and Chennai (75th), best known for dosa, idli, sambar and Chicken 65.

Globally, European cities dominate, with six Italian hubs leading the chart and Naples topping the list. Meanwhile, Indian cuisine earns the 12th spot among the world’s top culinary traditions, underlining the country's rich and varied food heritage.
