The global smart glasses market is witnessing a rapid transformation, with shipments surging 110% year-on-year in the first half of 2025. This resurgence is largely driven by strong consumer demand for Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses, alongside new entries like Xiaomi’s AI Glasses, TCL–RayNeo, and others.
Meta stands as the undisputed leader, capturing 73% market share, thanks to expanded manufacturing capacity through Luxottica and a broad retail outreach via Ray-Ban and Sunglass Hut stores. AI-enabled smart glasses now account for 78% of total shipments, up sharply from 46% in H1 2024, with the segment itself growing by over 250% YoY.
Newcomers are making their mark: Xiaomi’s AI Glasses became the fourth best-selling smart glasses globally remarkable for having just a week on sale. TCL’s RayNeo V3, Thunderobot’s AURA, and Kopin’s AirGo V also broaden the competitive landscape.
The success of smart eyewear stems from improved design, more affordable pricing, and richer functionalities like live translation, image recognition, and hands-free capture. Market analysts predict continued momentum into 2026 and beyond, with projected compound annual growth above 60%.
