The Bharat Ratna, the nation's highest civilian honor, was awarded posthumously in 2024 to Karpoori Thakur. Other top civilian awards include Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.

In sports, the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award, and Dronacharya Award recognize outstanding athletes and coaches. For literary brilliance, awards like Bharatiya Jnanpith, Sahitya Akademi, and Vyas Samman honor Indian writers.

Gallantry awards like Param Vir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra, and Shaurya Chakra celebrate extraordinary bravery. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award and National Film Awards applaud cinematic achievements. In 2024, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji won top honors.

India also honors peace efforts through the Gandhi Peace Prize and Indira Gandhi Peace Prize. On the local governance front, the National Panchayat Awards highlight grassroots development.

These awards not only honor individuals but also inspire the nation to strive for greatness across all fields.
