Diners place meat bone in Veg Biryani to avoid paying Bill!

On the night of July 31, a group of 8–13 young men dined at Biryani Bay Restaurant in Gorakhpur's Shastri Chowk, ordering both veg and non‑veg biryani. Shortly after service, one man loudly claimed he had found a bone in his vegetarian biryani, alleging unsanitary conditions and religious insensitivity during the holy month of Sawan.

The restaurant manager sought police help and reviewed the CCTV footage. It clearly showed one customer handing a bone from a non‑veg plate to another, who then secretly placed it into the vegetarian dish - a deliberate act to avoid paying the bill of approximately ₹5,000–₹6,000.

Owner Ravikar Singh condemned the act as a calculated attempt to tarnish the restaurant’s reputation. He confirmed that non-veg and veg foods are strictly prepared separately in his kitchen .

Gorakhpur police have reviewed the footage, removed the group from the premises, and Singh plans to file a formal complaint. Although no formal case has been registered yet, legal action is reportedly underway .

This bizarre incident highlights the misuse of religious sentiment for personal gain, and spotlights the importance of evidence—like CCTV—in resolving disputes.
