For a rare few-day window, Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru the governor’s stately official residence perched atop High Grounds will open its doors to the public. This 19th-century colonial-era mansion, constructed between 1840 and 1842 by Sir Mark Cubbon, is typically off-limits to ordinary visitors.

During this limited access, visitors can explore the sprawling 18-acre estate, which includes lavish gardens, the famed Glass House, royal ballroom, banquet hall, and ornate interiors featuring antique furniture, oil paintings, and 19 distinctive VVIP guest rooms named after Indian rivers and mountains. Guided tours—often operating in small batches—offer immersive storytelling and historical context, with highlights ranging from colonial architecture to modern ceremonial spaces.
