The Supreme Court on Friday, July 4, 2025, dismissed a plea filed by a NEET-UG 2025 aspirant seeking corrections to the final answer key based on NCERT standards and fresh declaration of results. The petitioner argued that certain questions in the final answer key released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were not aligned with NCERT textbooks, potentially affecting the scores and rankings of lakhs of candidates.
However, the apex court refused to entertain the plea, stating that once the final answer key is published after due process and expert evaluation, it cannot be altered. The bench emphasized that judicial interference in academic matters should remain limited and that the integrity of the examination process must be maintained.
With this ruling, the results declared by the NTA earlier this week will remain valid, and the admission process based on those results will continue as scheduled. The decision brings clarity to aspirants amid ongoing debates about exam fairness and evaluation standards.
