Global tension rises… Is Munir preparing a nuclear trial?

At a private event in Florida, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army Chief, issued a chilling warning: if Pakistan were pushed to the brink, he threatened to “take half the world down with us.” He targeted any future Indian dams, vowing they would be destroyed with “ten missiles” should India proceed with their construction.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs swiftly condemned the remarks as “nuclear sabre-rattling,” calling such rhetoric Pakistan’s “stock-in-trade” and questioning the integrity of its nuclear command-controls within a military deeply entwined with extremist groups.

Critical observers debunked Munir’s threats as a gross exaggeration of Pakistan’s actual capabilities, designed more for intimidation than strategic reality. As South Asia’s nuclear arsenals remain primarily regional in function, such statements risk inflaming already volatile geopolitics.
