In a rare blend of nostalgia and modern convenience, The Hindu has partnered with Blinkit to deliver a reprinted copy of its historic 15 August 1947 Independence Day edition straight to readers’ homes.

This 32-page collector’s item captures the emotions of India’s first day of freedom-featuring rare photographs of the freedom struggle, greetings from leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, C. Rajagopalachari, Babu Rajendra Prasad, and Lord & Lady Mountbatten, plus reports of nationwide celebrations.

The edition also includes vintage advertisements from iconic brands pledging support to the newborn nation, and cultural gems like the announcement of M.S. Subbulakshmi’s special AIR performance.

Available from 14 August 2025 in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai, only 5,000 copies will be printed-making it a true historical treasure.

Pradeep Gairola, Business Head - Digital at The Hindu, called it “a front-row seat to history-delivered in minutes,” marking a proud moment for the newspaper and readers alike.
