On August 15, 2025, the Indian government unveiled SabhaSaar, a cutting-edge AI tool designed to transform Gram Sabha documentation. Developed atop Bhashini, the government's AI-powered language platform, SabhaSaar processes video or audio recordings of village assemblies to generate structured, multilingual meeting minutes automatically. It transcribes discussions, translates them into Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, and more, and crafts a coherent summary ensuring clarity, consistency, and accessibility across rural India.

Initially rolled out in Tripura, SabhaSaar aims to modernize local governance by reducing manual paperwork and bringing transparency to the grassroots. Panchayat officials can use their e-GramSwaraj credentials to upload recordings and access instant, accurate summaries. This streamlines decision-making, improves accountability, and bridges the gap created by linguistic and digital barriers.
