Atta Market in Noida was once called the “Connaught Place of Noida” because it was clean, stylish, and full of shoppers. Located near Sector 18 Metro Station, it had over 700 shops and was the city's favourite shopping spot.
But now, things have changed. The market is full of street vendors, traffic jams, and no place to park. Every evening, police try to clear the area, but the vendors come back quickly. Long-time shopkeepers are losing customers because of the mess.
Locals say that some powerful groups charge street vendors money to use the space. Vendors say they need a proper place to do business.
Atta Market has turned from a premium shopping hub into a small, crowded version of Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar. Poor planning and lack of rules have made it hard for everyone.
