How Payal Jain is turning Rajasthan into an EV hub!

From a stable corporate job to leading an electric vehicle brand, Payal Jain’s journey is an inspiring story of courage and vision.

An Arts graduate from Jaipur, she spent a decade working at Vodafone and MAAC before deciding in 2017 to start her own business. The turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she noticed a rise in health and fitness awareness. Along with her husband, Prateek Jain-a state-level cyclist with electronics expertise-she launched VIGOR E-Bike in 2022.

VIGOR offers 5–6 stylish, premium e-bike models designed for ages 13 to 65, with the entire manufacturing process based in Jaipur under the Make in India initiative. The early days weren’t easy-sourcing high-quality parts, deciding on manufacturing methods, and creating unique designs were major challenges. But with support from government schemes like Stand-Up India and iStart Rajasthan, Payal built a strong foundation.

Today, VIGOR is available in Kota, Goa, and Jaipur, listed on Amazon, and preparing to export to the US, UK, and South Africa. Payal’s vision is “a VIGOR Bike in every household in the next 8–10 years.” Recognized by the Rajasthan Chief Minister, she continues to push for better EV infrastructure and believes women can lead India’s green mobility revolution.
