CRED Ads Are Fun, But Do We Get It?

Back in 2020, CRED entered the spotlight with flashy celebrity ads. Anil Kapoor danced, Madhuri Dixit sang, and Rahul Dravid famously lost his temper as “Indiranagar ka gunda.” Since then, the brand has continued this star-studded streak with cricketers, directors, and actors.

The result? Ads that are fun to watch and hard to ignore. But here’s the catch, many people still wonder, what does CRED actually do?

CRED’s main job is simple: pay your credit card bills and earn rewards. Over time, it added UPI payments, points, and special offers. But instead of explaining features directly, the brand chose humor and curiosity to stand out in a crowded fintech market.

Experts say this built strong brand recall but left clarity behind. Some believe it’s time for CRED to balance fun with information. Still, one thing is sure—CRED ads succeed in making us watch, smile, and remember.
