Roblox has issued a cease-and-desist letter and permanently banned all accounts associated with YouTuber Schlep—a creator known for confronting child predators on the platform. Despite facilitating the arrest of six alleged predators, Roblox accused him of violating its policies through “simulated child endangerment” and by sharing personal user information, actions the company says circumvent its official moderation systems.

Schlep, a 22-year-old content creator with over 767,000 subscribers, expressed frustration over Roblox’s response. Revealing his own past grooming experience on the platform that led to a suicide attempt, he criticized the company for ignoring his repeated attempts to report predators and failing to define appropriate reporting channels.

The decision has ignited widespread uproar in the gaming community. Supporters argue that Roblox is punishing a creator aimed at enhancing child safety and discourages grassroots vigilance. Movements like #FreeSchlep and overt criticism from prominent creators have added to the pressure. Roblox, however, maintains that unauthorized vigilante actions may endanger users and degrade trust in its formal safeguards.
