Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating that he "lacks courage" to stand face‑to‑face with farmers and address their rising unrest. Yadav described the CM’s approach as "scared and negative," asserting that Adityanath shies away from confronting the agricultural community's grievances.
This criticism comes amid escalating protests by farmers over issues like rising input costs, delayed procurement, and unfulfilled promises. Yadav pointed out that while Adityanath often couches himself in the image of a Yogi, his disconnect from ground-level challenges-particularly those faced by farmers-is telling. "A real yogi understands others’ pain as his own" , Yadav remarked, contrasting Adityanath's spiritual persona with what he says is a lack of empathy for suffering farmers.
By framing the CM as reluctant to engage directly with the agricultural crisis, Akhilesh underscored the SP's stance: Uttar Pradesh leadership needs to embrace courage, empathy, and accountability. As farmer discontent mounts, Yadav's charges add fuel to a politically charged debate over governance and rural distress.
