Satara (Maharashtra), July 11, 2025 – A stunt meant for an Instagram reel turned into a dangerous accident at Table Point, Satara district, when an SUV driven by 20‑year‑old Sahil Anil Jadhav spiraled off a hilltop platform and plunged into a 300‑foot gorge on Wednesday afternoon. The spectacle, captured by friends who had stepped out of the vehicle, shows the young man losing control mid-spin and descending into the deep ravine. 

Cadets training nearby and locals acted swiftly, climbing into the ditch to pull Sahil to safety. He was rushed to Sahyadri Hospital in Karad, where he is being treated for serious injuries. Police have registered a case as investigations are underway, focusing on risk-taking behaviour among youth for social media attention.

Local residents have raised concerns over the lack of safety barriers at Table Point, a favourite for its inverted waterfall and panoramic views. Authorities and tourists alike want urgent measures added to prevent similar tragedies.
