Air India has announced the completion of a comprehensive inspection of the fuel switch locking system on its Boeing aircraft, reporting no issues. The airline’s wide-body fleet includes 33 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, while its low-cost subsidiary, Air India Express, operates around 75 Boeing 737s.
The inspection was initiated following global concerns about the fuel control system on Boeing aircraft, which has drawn regulatory attention. Air India's statement emphasized its commitment to proactive safety measures and ensuring operational reliability.
No abnormalities were detected during the examination, reaffirming the safety of Air India’s fleet. The airline further stated that its engineering teams followed all manufacturer and regulatory guidelines while conducting the checks.
The reassurance comes as both Air India and Air India Express continue to expand operations and modernize fleets amid increasing scrutiny of Boeing’s global aircraft safety records.
