Meta is developing AI-powered role-playing chatbots in Hindi, aiming to make interactions on its platforms more engaging and culturally relevant. To do this, the company is hiring third-party contractors, including US-based freelancers, who will collaborate with local residents in India, Indonesia, and Mexico.
Contractors fluent in Hindi can earn $55 per hour (around ₹4,840). Their responsibilities include providing creative guidance and customizing character-driven chatbots to feel authentic to users. The move highlights Meta’s focus on AI chatbots as a key feature for social media engagement in non-English markets.
By tailoring these AI systems to local languages and cultural nuances, Meta hopes to make digital conversations feel more natural and relatable. Experts say this trend reflects the growing importance of multilingual AI solutions worldwide.
The initiative also creates opportunities for skilled language professionals to participate in cutting-edge AI development, blending technology with cultural insight. For Meta, this is part of a broader strategy to make its AI-driven services more inclusive and globally appealing.
