China Far Ahead of India in AI-Driven Defence Tech, Says LatentAI CEO!

In a candid assessment, LatentAI CEO Jags Kandasamy stated that China has surged ahead of India in utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for military and defence purposes. He emphasized that India lacks a clear strategy and cohesive action when it comes to incorporating AI in its armed forces.

Speaking at a global tech event, Kandasamy noted that China has prioritized AI integration across its defence infrastructure, developing autonomous systems and predictive capabilities to enhance military readiness.

In contrast, India’s progress is slower and fragmented, with bureaucratic hurdles and limited collaboration between the military, private sector, and academia posing significant challenges.

He urged Indian policymakers and defence planners to take decisive steps to frame AI-focused policies, encourage public-private partnerships, and invest in advanced AI research to remain geopolitically competitive.

Kandasamy’s remarks serve as a wake-up call for India, underlining the critical role of AI in future warfare and national security.
