Delhi wakes up to overnight showers and more Rain warnings!

Delhi witnessed a cloudy morning on Thursday following overnight showers that left several parts of the city waterlogged. The rainfall led to major traffic disruptions across key areas including ITO, Connaught Place, and Aerocity, with commuters stuck in long delays.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rainfall is expected to continue in Delhi-NCR until at least August 5, accompanied by high humidity. Safdarjung recorded 34 mm of rain, while other areas like Pusa and Pragati Maidan reported between 22–40 mm overnight.

The Delhi Traffic Police issued multiple advisories, warning of road closures and slowdowns at underpasses such as Zakhira and Azad Market due to severe waterlogging. Airlines at IGI Airport also warned passengers to check flight statuses due to weather-related delays.

On the upside, the showers helped improve air quality, bringing the AQI down to a 'satisfactory' range. Authorities advise commuters to plan routes in advance and carry rain gear amid continued wet spells.
